BANKING ON KIDS was created by Dr. Edward F. Anhalt. Dr. Anhalt felt that with the average 50 year old American having only $2,500 in their savings account, and with the nation spending $65 for every $1.00 saved ... it was time to start teaching the merits of “saving for the future”. What better place to start than the elementary/middle school classroom, where students still haven’t come into contact with the ATM Machine or “savings withdrawal slips”.

Dr. Anhalt earned his Bachelors Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI, After returning from the Peace Corps in Shiraz, Iran he decided to pursue advanced studies in the discipline of education. He earned a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, WI. He followed that by earning his Doctorate of Education from Rutgers University-New Brunswick, NJ. He completed a post doctorate program at Lehigh University-Bethlehem, PA.

Dr. Anhalt has served on the faculty of Rutgers University, Douglas College, Muhlenberg College...and for seventeen years taught in the College of Business and Management at Cardinal Stritch University.

His academic endeavors have found him on the Governors Taskforce for the School To Work Initiative, involved with the National Association of Partners In Education, a board member of the Milwaukee Public School Innovative School Committee, and a Board Member of Engineers and Scientists of Milwaukee and the Sally Ride Academy. He has been an honorary member of Phi Delta Kappa since 1978.

Dr. Anhalt started his own advertising/marketing firm Just Like Downtown, Inc. thirty years ago and has produced over 150 special events in the areas of food, sports, and education. He takes great pride in his Banking On Kids program, which he sees as being mutually beneficial to schools, students, parents, as well as financial institutions.

Dr. Anhalt is presently the Dean of Education at International University for Graduate Studies (www.iugrad.com).
